Super Smash Bros. Institute

What is this site?

We are a dedicated bunch of Super Smash Bros. fans who want to contribute more to the community. We have a passion for data and a love for the game, and by those forces combined hope to disseminate knowledge and promote camaraderie and kinship in the Super Smash Bros. community.

Form human player vs human player tournament analysis, to amiibo tournament hosting, we collect information on the metagame of Super Smash Bros. from 64 to Ultimate. We run tournaments frequently and try to gather as much information as possible. If you have a tournament that you would like to host, or a tournament you already held that you would like to analyze, feel free to do so using this spreadsheet. If your data is solid (we'll check) then the results will be integrated into our charts on this site.

Want to be a part of the fun? Join us on our Discord. We'd love to talk with you!

We have a blog!

Stay up to date on the latest Super Smash Bros. information by following our blog! We have a few guides and amiibo analysis as well as simple things such as getting recordings and images off your Nintendo Switch and onto your computer.

Come and have a look!

How do I get involved?

Documenting your tournaments is really easy, and getting approved to have your data reflected in the charts is straightforward. Simply make a copy of this spreadsheet and fill it out with your tournament data. Once you have the sheet filled out, just notify our team and your data can be featured on the home page charts. We do this by copying the link to your copied Google Sheets document, so be sure to include that in the message / email.

Once we get your message, we will add it to the list of data sources on the main charts sheet for our tournament data. Please make sure that your Google Sheets document is "Anyone with the link can view" so that our Google Spreadsheet that generates the charts can read it!

We also need help adding to the source Google Sheet!

There is a base Google sheet that we use as our data sources for all of the dropdowns, but adding in all of the images can be quite tedious. Message us in Discord if you want to help, and after we get in touch we'll get you a version of the spreadsheet that you can modify.
